Oldengate Bridge: Dinoland USA

As part of a team of scenic artists at Beyond Scenic, I contributed to the restoration and theming of the Oldengate Bridge in Dinoland USA’s Boneyard playground at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This 52-foot bridge plays a key role in the area, and our mission was to enhance its aged appearance while ensuring its durability for the years to come. We applied a tinted sealer and carefully layered colors to achieve realistic effects that resembled dinosaur bones. My responsibilities included surface preparation, such as cleaning and priming the structure, as well as executing the required scenic painting. I worked on the aerial lift for harder to reach areas and assisted in cleanup and breakdown of the work area. This project provided valuable hands-on experience, combining technical skill with creativity.
